Google shows off live demo of Project ARA in Mumbai
For the first time in India, Google is giving a live demonstration of its Project Ara on the premises of IIT Mumbai. The event is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm IST and will go on till 3:30 pm. Google is holding a live demo for the project to the Mumbai Tech community and it is the first time it is made public in India. Registrations were closed due to limited seats available. Snacks and lunch will be served to the few lucky ones who have attended the event.
Google’s aim is to enable the engineering community to build the Project Ara hardware modules and get involved with the first of it’s kind modular hardware ecosystem. The topic will include the following:
Introduction to Project ARA and incentive program:
Description: Understand the concept, who can participate, how to participate, access to Google's Ara play store / market, technical expertise required, incentive programs and a lot more.

Android Software development for Project Ara:
Description: Where to get the software, how to enable new modules, using development boards.
Speaker: Khasim Syed Mohammed, Linaro.

Bio: At Google, he leads the Developer Relations for Project Ara. Previously Anil worked at Global foundries, Applied Materials and Analog Devices in roles including Corporate Strategy, Product Management and IC Design. Anil has a Masters in Management and Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.

Bio: He is Tech Lead for Android Engineering at Linaro. At Linaro, he and his team are involved in enabling Android for Project Ara reference hardware. He has more than 12+ years of rich experience on Linux distributions, kernel and device drivers for ARM SoCs and has significant hands on experience on pre-silicon platform like Vitrio for OMAP series and ARM Fast Models for ARMv7 and v8-A cores.
