“We are probing it from all angles as we have considered it as a high-priority case. The special team is in the process of collecting all related evidence and documents pertaining to the incident from the house, office and places where he often visited.
The team also questioned a few neighbours to ascertain whether they saw Mr Ravi on Monday, the day of his death. We are yet to receive the autopsy report. We will submit the report once complete the investigation,” another senior CID officer said.
The investigation team opened the office of Mr Ravi, which had been sealed by the city police. They went through his work files that were related to the raids he had conducted in the recent past. The officials also took hold of Mr Ravis two mobile phones, laptop and iPad from the city police. The gadgets have been sent to the cyber crime department for analysis as these devices have been locked by Mr Ravi.
The CID sleuths are recording the statements of family members, friends, colleagues and relatives, with whom Mr Ravi had regular contacts two days before his death.
The sleuths have taken the statement of his father-in-law Hanumantharayappa and are waiting to record the statement of his wife Kusuma, who has still not come to terms with her husband’s death, CID sources said.
