Congress targets AAP, Arvind Kejriwal over infighting
New Delhi: Targeting AAP over its infighting, Congress on Saturday said the "laboratory of AAP experiment is on fire" and accused Arvind Kejriwal of demeaning his party and the political class.
Leaders of Congress, whose 15-year unbroken stint in Delhi was brought to an end by AAP, went hammer and tongs against Kejriwal after a rebellion in that party led to removal of AAP's founding members Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from its the National Executive.
Party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi alleged that absolute power has made Aam Aadmi Party "immoral" and its true character is now visible to the people.
He also asked AAP to set its house in order and deliver on its promises to people of Delhi.
"First AAP should set its house in order and start delivering in Delhi. That is our concern, Delhi citizens' concern and Delhi community's concern. And this kind of laundering goes on in open spectacle every day... then I think Delhi is the biggest sufferer," he said, adding that the allegations and counter allegations by rival factions in Aam Aadmi Party are "extremely serious".
Senior spokesperson and AICC general secretary Shakeel Ahmed, who is in-charge of Delhi affairs of the party, took a dig at the AAP chief saying "Kejriwal is totally justified for taking the help of "bouncers", his present physical condition doesn't permit to take on a lot of people."
He further said, "Silence of Kejriwal is a clear indication to the other faction of AAP that 'Go to Hell' and let me rule with the help of my MLAs."
In another tweet, Ahmed said, “Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan are openly calling Mr Kejriwal &his associates, liars.”
Another party spokesperson Sanjay Jha said, "I understand that AAP is an experiment. But right now it so happens that the laboratory is on fire. That's all."
