Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh met US President Barack Obama at Portland in the United States recently. “Got the opportunity to meet US President Barack Obama in Portland today. I explained the Smart City project, and our efforts to reach out to American companies asking them to invest in Andhra Pradesh. It felt great to know that the American President knew the kind of work the AP CM was doing and was very appreciative of it. He even asked me to convey his regards to Mr Naidu, which I will, along with memories of having a good conversation with the President of United States. Mr Obama conveyed his regards to our CM and mentioned the amazing work CM is doing,” tweeted Mr Lokesh, who met Mr Obama at a Democratic Party fund-raising event in Portland.
“I travelled all the way to Portland to attend a gathering, which was to be graced by the President himself. After the passage of events designated for the noon, there I was, face to face with an icon, and certainly an inspiration to millions of budding leaders. We spoke briefly about the buzz AP was creating in the American business circles, and about Vizag that will be transformed by the US into a Smart City.
The American President was in the know of the good work carried out by AP CM, which certainly came as a pleasant surprise. It was nice of him for asking me convey my regards to Mr Naidu. I will treasure those moments for a long time and will certainly hope that all the goodwill generated leads to long-term association between AP and TS,” said Mr Lokesh.
