Simbu, Andrea roped in for Thiruttu Kalyanam songs
Twenty six-year-old Chennai-based music director Vaidhhy, is all smiles because he managed to rope in Simbu and Andrea Jeremiah separately for two different songs in his debut film Thiruttu Kalyanam. “We wanted Simbu to sing this mass song Aasa mela, which he has rendered with Malavika Iyer of Super Singer fame. We approached him and he was happy to record the song in two hours the next day. In fact, we didn’t need many takes. Simbu is a great singer and it was a wonderful experience to work with him,” says the young music composer.
Vaidhhy adds, “When I am working as a composer, I always go with what’s required for the film. A film is always a director’s medium and since that particular song required Andrea’s voice, we were glad to put it to good use. She has sung a romantic number. We had full conviction in the the star’s singing abilities and decided to rope in her. Both the songs have come out very well and will become chart-busters.”
Asked what the script was about, he says it is about the lives of a couple which elope from their respective houses to get married; whether or not they manage to lead a successful life thereafter, is what it is all about. Vaidhhy, who has worked for eight years under the legendary Mani Sharma, says he wants to rope in more actors for his music. “I have ambitions to make Suriya sir sing for me,” he smiles and signs off.
