Naveen, the Hyderabad boy hopes that his acting career will take off now

Hyderabad: Honest Weddings is the latest viral sensation on social media. And the two-part AIB video, which crossed 3 million views in just three days, has a Telugu connection.
Naveen from Hyderabad, who has acted in two films, Life is Beautiful and ‘1’ Nenokkadine, plays the groom in the video.
“My phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the video came out. I have been flooded with calls and messages complimenting my work. People messaged me from even Australia and Nigeria that they loved the video,” says Naveen.
The video is a satirical portrayal of desi weddings, right from the couple meeting for the first time to the actual wedding day. “The photoshoot scene with me and the bride is being said to be the most hilarious scene in the video,” says Naveen.
The Telugu actor got a big break in Mahesh Babu’s ‘1’ Nenokkadine, where he acted as Mahesh’s friend. He had expected to get some good projects after this, but nothing excited him. “So I decided to go to Mumbai and approached the AIB team. They had done a spoof on a national newspaper and I gave my voice-over for it. They liked my work and offered me the groom’s character in this wedding video,” recalls Naveen.
Naveen said he enjoyed shooting the video. “I couldn’t stop laughing while shooting as there were some adult jokes and witty dialogues. The characters in this video actually speak whatever is on their minds when an Indian marriage takes place,” says Naveen.
He adds that three-four Telugu production houses have approached him since the video released. “I can’t give the details, but it is huge and I am getting calls from Tollywood too,” he says. “My mother was putting pressure on me to get married and I showed her the video,” laughs the actor, adding that he hopes to get a foothold in Bollywood too after the video.
