Twitterati react to Indian Air Force jet landing on Yamuna Expressway

Mumbai: It was busy day for Twitterati as for the first time in Indian history a fighter aircraft of Indian Air Force landed on Yamuna Expressway near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, as part of trials for usage of national highways in case of emergency landings.

#YamunaExpressway was trending on Twitter throughout the day on top trends (India).

Residents of Delhi & NCR on Twitter were more concerned about the toll being charged to the aircraft for landing on Yamuna Expressway, rather than importance of landing on the highway being a matter of pride for the country.

"The IAF has plans to activate more such stretches on highways in the future for trail runs of fighter aircarfts." said an official from the Indian Air Force to PTI.
