IPL 8 MI vs CSK: Indian Premier League final, a wash out?

According to the regional met office, there is a possibility of thundershowers

Kolkata: In what can spell doom for the thousands of cricket fans turning up for the all awaited Indian Premier League final, strong chances are there that thundershowers accompanied with heavy rainfall could spoil the huge clash when Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings lock horns with Mumbai Indians, here at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

According to the regional met office, there is a possibility of thundershowers in the next few days in West Bengal, including the state capital Kolkata, but heat and humidity will shoot up till the monsoon arrives.

Districts like Burdwan and Bankura in south Bengal continue to sizzle in the heat with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees Celsius and above. Kolkata also is witnessing a sauna-like atmosphere with high temperatures (38 to 39 degrees Celsius) and soaring humidity (around 85 to 90 per cent).

It brings bad news for cricket fans who are set to turn up at the Eden Gardens on the big day and a repeat of the rain-delayed opening may not be welcome.
