Hyderabad: The severe heatwave conditions in the two states took the lives of 58 people from Telangana and over 80 from Andhra Pradesh since Saturday, according to official data.
“The total toll went up to 186 as on Sunday in Telangana as per information received till evening,” revenue secretary B.R. Meena said. “According to reports from districts, the toll in Andhra Pradesh is 246 as on Sunday evening.

Prakasam recorded the maximum number of deaths i.e., 57, and Visakhapatnam has reported 53 deaths,” said disaster management special commissioner of AP, P. Tulasi Rani.

On Sunday, Tuni recorded the maximum temperature of 47.2ºC. In Telangana, Hanamkonda recorded 45.8ºC, Ramagundam 44.8ºC, Nizamabad 43.8 and Hyderabad 41.5ºC.
