India's tallest man faces trouble in finding true love
Mumbai: India’s tallest man, Dharmendra Singh, standing tall at 8ft 1inch is struggling to find love because of his height. Singh is only two inches shy of the world record of being the tallest man in the world.
The 32-year-old, from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, says it’s difficult to find ‘one’ because of his height. In an interview to The Telegraph, UK, Singh said, “In terms of marriage, the main problem is my height. It will be very difficult to find someone who is tall enough for me. I think it is impossible. So this is also the reason why I haven’t had a girlfriend. Women are very much interested in me. They talk to me and giggle but I have never met anyone who I could look up to.”
Singh’s height has also proved to be a hurdle in his way of finding a job. He said, “Whenever I went for interviews for jobs, people asked how will do the work if I was so tall.”
Singh now works as a freak show performer at a local amusement park, where he spends his days in a cage-like structure selling photographs. His job pays him a meagre 10,000 rupees a month. It is with this money that he provides for his and his family’s needs.
