Hyderabad Popular Telugu actress Aarthi Aggarwal passed away on Saturday. According to her manager Uma Shankar, the actress was pronounced dead at around 1 am in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. “One month ago, she suffered from some breathing problem and went for a minor operation. She was fine, but last night she complained of chest pain and informed her father. They took her to the hospital, but before she reached the hospital she died on the way,” said the manager.
The actress' family is living Egg Harbour Township, a 20-minute drive to Atlanta city. This news came in as a shock to the Tollywood industry, as the actress has starred in several films with some of the biggest stars. She was one of the most bankable actresses in the 90s.
Rumour has it that the actress was overweight and wanted to get it under control and therefore opted for a liposuction treatment in the USA. However the operation was not successful.
The actress was all set to comeback to Tollywood and also announced a few projects too. Aarthi Aggarwal made her debut in the Hindi film ‘Paagalpan’ and then entered into Tollywood opposite Venkatesh in the film ‘Nuvvu Naku Nachav’. The film became a huge hit and she never looked back after that. She went on to act opposite top stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Prabhas.
Her marriage to Ujwal in 2007 ended in a divorce within a few weeks. After which she left India and was living with her parents.
Arti Agarwal’s debut film ‘Nuvvu Naku Nachav’ director is K Vijay Bhaskar. He says that he was shocked to hear the news of actress death. “She is an innocent actress and a hard working girl,” says the director. “After we saw the portfolio of her we met her family in Mumbai to ask her for the Telugu film,” he says. He added that everybody felt at that time that she had a long feature in Tollywood. “It is unfortunate that Arti died at very young age,” says Vijay Bhaskar.
Aarti also acted opposite Rajasekhar in the hit film ‘Gorintaku’ 2009. “She is a very much dedicated actress and never comes late for the shooting. Though we heard about her earlier, but when it comes to my film, she never shows her attitude and works hard,” says Rajasekhar. He added that she is more depending on her parents. “Whether she is a good girl and spoiled child, it is all because of her parents. She follows blindly her father and of course they always taking care of her,” says the actor. At the time of shooting also the actress spoke about her overweight. “She used to tell me about what measures she is taking for the weight loss,” says Rajasekhar. He says that many actors and actresses are into depression these days once they didn’t get any work. “Once they reached to the top position, some actors can’t bare to act in small films. Sometimes it causes mental depression for them. At that time those people need doctors and parents help,” says the actor. “I don’t know the exact death of the actress as there are many reasons. That’s the reason I want to appeal all the actors, not to worry too much if they didn’t get work,” says the actor.
