A breath of fresh air

Film: Kerintha

Cast: Sumanth Aswin, Viswanath, Parvateesham, Sri Divya, Sukruthi and Tejaswi

Director: Sai Kiran Adivi

Rating: 3 (three)

After several big budget films, producer Dil Raju has now made a small budget film Kerintha introducing a few new faces as lead actors. Sai Kiran Adivi is the director.

The story is about three young couples and their love stories. Jay (Sumanth Aswin) Nookraju (Parvatheesam) Sid (Viswanth), Bhavana (Sukruthi) and Priya (Tejaswi) are college friends and they help each other. Jay falls in love with a medico (Sri Divya), Nookraju loves Bhavana and Priya and Sid are in love. They have different goals in their life, but they are all happy when they become good friends. Trouble starts when all of them fall in love. Suddenly all of them feel alone and the remaining story is how they cross the hurdles and unite again.

Though there have been a couple of films earlier with a college as the backdrop, director Sai Kiran Adivi makes an interesting narration. Another good thing about the director is, he makes all the actors in the film act naturally and gets good performances out of them. He mainly captures the present mind-set of young people.

The three young couple gives matured performances. Of the three, Parvateesam and Sukruthi steal the show. Both are making their debut with this film. Parvateesam also provides much entertainment with his Srikakulam accent. He is very good with dialogues. Sukruthi plays his love interest and she never looks like a debutant. This film is going to be a good one for Tejaswi too as she showcases her talent. Sumanth Aswin has improved a lot and shows his maturity. Sri Divya is another talented actress. Viswanath, another new face, too passed with good marks. In a supporting role, Pragathi gives a decent performance.

The music by Mickey J. Mayer is good and all the songs are soothing. He always gives importance to lyrics. A special mention about Abburi Ravi for coming up with meaningful dialogues. Cinematography is also good.

After watching the regular masala, heavy action-high drama noisy films, Kerintha is like a breath of fresh air.
