Vikram Prabhu’s romantic thriller Wagah directed by GNR Kumaravelan commenced its shoot with a 10-day schedule at Kumbakonam a while ago. The crew later announced that they will move to Kashmir and Ooty to shoot some prominent parts of the film.
The filmmakers were tight-lipped about the female lead of Wagah and have gone on record saying that they’re trying to rope in a relatively fresh face from the south.The latest on that front is that Sandalwood actress Ranya Rao is likely to be cast opposite Vikram, who plays an army officer in the movie.
Although an official confirmation is due, the grapevine has it that the actress has been approached. The model-turned-actress was last seen in a Kannada film where she played one of the romantic interests of Sudeep. Rumours are also rife that the film will have a second actress.
