New Delhi: A recent image circulated on social media shows a poster that announces a Quran reciting competition, whose winners will be awarded with a female slave.
The shocking posters which were in Arabic, couldn't be verified, and it was circulated in the Al-Baraka province in Syria to announce a Koran memorization competition in celebratoin of the holy motnh of Ramadan. It lists planned prizes, and the first prize winner would be given a 'sabiyya', a female slave, while the others would be offered monitory prizes of various levels.
The holy month of Ramadan is a period where piety and humble living is considered important and while fasting from dawn until sunset, belivers refrain from consuming food, drinking liquids, smoking, and engaging in sexual relations with one's spouse.
