iPhone 6S: All you need to know about Apple’s next big thing

Apple’s next iPhone will feature Force Touch technology

September, when Apple traditionally unveils its next-generation iPhones, is approaching and the excitement is soaring high. According to a report by BuzzFeed News, Apple intends to launch its flagship for the year 2015 in the second week of September. Last year too, Apple held the event on September 9.

Apple's next iPhone will presumably be called iPhone 6S/iPhone 6S Plus, instead of iPhone 7.

Among others, one of the significant changes that Apple is working on is the addition of Force Touch to the user interface of the next iPhone. Apple defines Force Touch as the ‘most significant new sensing capability’. Essentially, apart from scrolling, swiping and pinching, the Force Touch has a customisable feature, which allows a user to determine the pressure needed to register a click. The Force Touch can also tell if a user is clicking with a thumb or another finger and auto-adjust to sensitivity level. Presently, the latest MacBook and the Apple Watch feature the Force Touch.

Reports have it, that Apple has already started production of the iPhone 7 and they are pulling up their socks for the launch.

Also, 9To5Mac recently revealed the leaked images of the next iPhone. It looks largely similar to the existing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on the exterior. Like its predecessor iPhone 6, it is also expected to be introduced in the 4.7-inch and 5-inch variant. Below are the images of the iPhone 7 that were revealed by 9To5Mac:

Although the housing of the next iPhone looks almost identical to the iPhone 6, the leaked image has dashed all the rumours of the iPhone 7 sporting a dual lens camera system.
