Madurai: In a shocking incident, a 31-year-old man from Madurai district was arrested for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter. The man was claiming that she was his second wife after tying a 'mangalsutra'.
It has been a year since he was sexually abusing her and was caught after one of his relative informed the child helpline number about the incident. The man also threatened his wife with dire consequences to not to disclose the matter to anyone.
“Medical examination has confirmed sexual abuse and he has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences. Child Welfare Committee is now looking after the girl, says Vijayendra Bidari, Police Superintendent.
