Tulasi is in demand

Hyderabad: Actress Tulasi is going places! Popularly known as Sankarabharanam Tulasi, where she played a child artiste in that classic film, the actress later acted as a female lead in many films and now is in demand as mother for the younger generation actors like Prabhas, Allu Arjun and others.

Tulasi is now playing an important character in Srimanthudu that stars Mahesh Babu. “I am happy to say that director Koratala Shiva has also decided to cast me, whenever he is writing a script,” says Tulasi. The film is complete and Tulasi is all excited, but, “I can’t reveal my character, I can only say that it is one of the best in recent times that I have played,” she says. “My character is an important one,” she adds.

Tulasi did a few scenes with Mahesh Babu, “He is such a down-to-earth person and very simple on the sets,” she says. She added that she is close to Krishna’s (Mahesh Babu’s father) family and shared all her memories with Mahesh. “I went to Krishna garu’s village and even attended Mahesh’s two birthdays. He was a child at that time and I spoke to him about the old days on the sets of the film and he gave a big smile, which flatters every one,” says Tulasi.

The actress earlier played mother to Allu Arjun in Julayi and Prabhas in Darling. Both these films have become super hits. “I am getting a lot of offers both in Telugu and Tamil. I don’t mind whether it’s a small one or a lengthy role, but my character should be important, then only I sign,” says Tulasi. “I am happy to work with all the young generation of Tollywood actors,” she says.

She is all praise for the directors like Koratala Shiva, Srikanth Addala and Trivikram for showing the village atmosphere in their films. “I like the film Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and the way he presented the village atmosphere,” she says.

She added that she also signed with the director in his next film Brahmotsavam. Mahesh Babu is playing as the lead actor in this film too.
