Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Delhi girl Mira Rajput in a quiet ceremony at her her Chattarpur farmhouse. The wedding that was reportedly attended by just about 30 people was followed by a grand reception in The Oberoi Hotel, Gurgaon.
The two exchanged vows in a typical Punjabi ceremony, without any of the Bollywood hungama normally associated with such weddings.They also opted for the Anand Karaj ceremony, that sees both partners as equals, hence no dowry demands or any consideration of cast, class and linage came into play.
According to reports, astrological dates weren’t considered this time around as the marriage was arranged by their fathers, Pankaj Kapur and Mira’s father. They however did get the blessings of their guru.
Shahid and Mira reportedly met at a 'satsang' as both their families are followers of the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas, a philosophical organisation based on the spiritual teachings of all religions.
