Hyderabad: An RTC bus that was travelling from Uppal to Mehdipatnam caught fire at Barkatpura on Tuesday.
The driver, who noticed smoke and sparks coming from the engine, parked the bus on the roadside and asked all passengers to get down.
Firefighters who rushed to the spot doused the fire. Nearly 45 passengers who were on board the bus escaped unhurt.
The incident occurred at about 10 am. All the passengers were accommodated in other buses. The burnt bus was shifted to the depot for repairs.
The RTC is examining the vehicle to see why it caught fire.
