Jagan Mohan Reddy says CM responsible for Pushkaralu stampede
Rajahmundry: Pointing a finger at the failures of the TDP government over the arrangements, YSRC leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded that CM N. Chandrababu Naidu step down. He also criticised his publicity stunts to garner full credit on the Pushkaras.
Speaking here on Tuesday, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy blamed the CM for the stampede in which 30 devotees were killed at the Pushkar ghat and also demanded Mr Naidu quit as CM on moral grounds taking full responsibility.
“The Saraswati ghat was reserved for VIPs, but the CM opted to offer puja at the Pushkar ghat and devotees were blocked for two and-a-half hours in the queue because of him. When the two gates were removed there was a sudden surge as devotees had been waiting for a long time,” said the opposition leader.
He added that the CM should go to Kaasi for a holy dip and get his prayaschittam for what he has done for fame and called him a “publicity monger”.
