100 Telangana schools to go digital
Hyderabad: The state IT department will launch digital ‘TS Class’ classrooms in 100 government schools on September 5, Teacher’s Day. The process of identifying the schools is going on.
‘TS Class’ is aimed at providing computer literacy and skills in government schools, and to provide them with adequate infrastructure will be taken up.
The project is in line with the Telangana State government’s ‘digital literacy programme’ which envisages at least one family member in each household being ‘digitally literate.’
TS Class will benefit schools which do not have sufficient teaching staff. A component of TS Class is recorded teaching sessions from the best subject teachers.
“In the digital classrooms, the teacher will oversee students being addressed by a virtual teacher who would be a subject expert. We plan to transform the method of teaching to digital lessons given on emails eventually,” said a senior official from the Information Technology department.
