Director Rajkumar Hirani hospitalised after motorcycle accident

Mumbai: Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani fractured his jaw early Tuesday after he fell of the bike he was riding.

He was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra.

According to sources, one of Hirani's employees had purchased a new motorcycle, which the director decided to give a test-run.

The 52-year-old director started wasn’t riding the bike fast, but still off as he couldn’t manage the heavy weight of the two-wheeler.

The ‘PK’ director fractured his jaw and sustained a gash on the chin.

"He is in the hospital... he is in the ICU. He is fine, and it is nothing serious. He will be discharged today. We can't talk right now," a relative of Hirani told PTI.

The director, screenwriter and film editor is best known for the movies "Munna Bhai MBBS" (2003), "Lage Raho Munnabhai" (2006), "3 Idiots" (2009) and "PK" (2014).

All films directed by Hirani have become huge successes at the box office.
