Ready to surrender, says red sanders international smuggler Sahul Hameed

Hyderabad: Most-wanted red sanders international smuggler Sahul Hameed of Dubai has offered to surrender to the Andhra Pradesh police, according to top police officials. Following the arrest of his son Azharuddin by the Tirupati Urban police, Hameed had communicated to the top brass of the AP police through mediators and informants that he is ready to give up.

The AP police had written to the Central Bureau of Investigation, the nodal agency, which in turn approached Interpol for issuing a red corner notice against Sahul Hameed. A senior AP police officer, said, “Following Azharuddin’s arrest at the Mumbai airport by Tirupati police, he had sent us information that he would surrender. He is claiming his son is innocent and had little role in the red sanders smuggling. He told the mediators that he was the actual kingpin.”
