COIMBATORE: Whirlpool of India has opened its first exclusive built-in showroom ‘Whirlpool Haute Kitchen’ in Coimbatore, the first in Tamil Nadu and second in India. The next target is to have one showroom in Chennai in another three months and also there will be another eight such showrooms across the country by September end, informed the officials.
The 850 to 1,000 sq ft showroom with the investment of Rs 15 lakh has European styling and functionality offering a complete range of built-in products like built-in hobs, hoods, coffee machine, oven, microwave oven, refrigerator and wine cooler, water purifier, steam oven, dishwasher and stackable washer and dryer.
Shantanu Das Gupta, vice president, corporate affairs and strategy, Whirlpool of India said the focus is on retail customers and builders. “As 95 per cent of sales happen through retailers, we sell to 250 kitchen manufacturers in the country. From the current Rs 25 crore we are expecting the business to grow by Rs 100 crore in next three years with a growth of 30 per cent per annum.”
