Mumbai: With Indrani Mukerjea still not accepting her hand in the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora, the investigation now depends on the findings of forensic science laboratory (FSL) to prove the murder.
A village official in Raigad district, Police Patil Ganesh Dhene, who helped the team of Mumbai police locate the spot where Sheena was allegedly buried, on Sunday said when he first spotted the body in 2012, it was just a skeleton with no flesh.
“It was all skeleton. There was no flesh. The local government doctor took it for postmortem, after which it was buried,” Mr Dhene said.

When asked how he came across the skeletal remains, Mr Dhene said, “I had gone to collect mangoes. The body was not in a suitcase. The surrounding area was burnt.” he also confirmed that the skeleton was not inside any suitcase.
Remains from a body recovered by Pen police in May 2012 have been sent the FSL and their report is expected by Tuesday.
Indrani’s former husband Sanjiv Khanna and driver Shyam Rai, will be produced before a local court on Monday along with her where the police are likely to seek an extension of their police custody.
During the sustained interrogation on Saturday, Indrani and Sanjiv had blamed each other for the crime.
“We have also collected the blood and hair samples of Indrani and Mikhail and sent to the Kalina-based forensic science laboratory. The report is expected soon,” an officer said.
