Unaware of Indrani’s secret bank accounts, says ‘shocked’ Peter Mukerjea
Mumbai: Distancing himself from his wife Indrani Mukerjea after learning about her alleged role in the murder of Sheena Bora, Peter Mukerjea told Mumbai Police that his marriage with Indrani was not going too well. He told the cops he was 'shocked' to know about her 'secret' bank accounts, which he claims was unknown to him.
According to reports, police sources said apart from Peter and Indrani's ten joint accounts, which include three NRI and one overseas, Indrani on her own operated at least four accounts, including two overseas, which Peter had no idea existed.
The couple have accounts in at least five banks - HDFC, ICICI, Standard Chartered, City, and SBI in Mumbai and Delhi. Investigations revealed that Indrani had opened separate accounts in these banks without informing Peter. The report also mentioned that Indrani had around Rs 70 lakh as fixed deposits for which the sole nominee is her youngest daughter Vidhie.

Peter, who was questioned for nearly 10 hours at the Khar police station on Wednesday, doubted that his relationship would survive the ongoing turbulence. Despite knowing that Indrani too was at the Khar Police Station, where he was being questioned, Mukerjea did not request to see her. He also refused to be questioned in her presence.
Indrani, arrested last week for allegedly killing Sheena Bora, her daughter from an earlier marriage whom she would introduce as her sister in social circles, too was questioned separately at the same police station.
Peter was unable to answer several questions on their business dealings and said he depended entirely on her in matters business. He is likely to be questioned again on Friday.
