Narendra Modi to take part in Facebook Q&A in US

Mr Modi will have a townhall-style question-and-answer session at the Facebook headquarters

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Facebook headquarters in California later this month at the invitation of the social media giant’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Mr Modi will have a townhall-style question-and-answer session at the Facebook headquarters on September 27.

The PM will be on a visit to Ireland and the US from September 23 to 29 during which he will address the United Nations General Assembly and also visit the Google headquarters in Silicon Valley.
PM Modi, Zuckerberg invite questions
Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited questions for the townhall session while making an announcement on his Facebook page. His announcement came after Mr Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post: “I’m excited to announce that Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India will be visiting Facebook HQ later this month for a townhall Q&A... Prime Minister Modi and I will discuss how communities can work together to address social and economic challenges.”

This will be only the second townhall by the 31-year-old US billionaire after US President Barack Obama. Inviting questions, Mr Modi said, “This programme will be incomplete without your participation! Share your questions on Facebook. I urge you all to share your questions on the ‘Narendra Modi mobile app’. Your questions will make this a programme to be remembered.”
