The controversial production company Lyca Productions, which had produced Vijay’s Kaththi last year, was in the news again recently for bagging the rights of Naanum Rowdy Thaan and the award-winning film Visaranai. Interestingly, both the films have been produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. Now, the company is eyeing the rights of Bala’s period film Tharai Thappattai, which will have Sasikumar essaying a Nadaswaram artiste and Varalaxmi playing a Karagattam dancer.
The shooting of the film took place in several locales and was wrapped up recently, and a source informs that the film will hit the screens end of this year. Tharai Thappattai’s music has been composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Lyca Productions is also expected to produce superstar Rajinikanthand Shankar’s Enthiran 2, the shooting of which might commence next year.
