Rajendran plays a cab driver in it and will be seen in a full-fledged role

Rajendran, who rose to fame with films like Raja Rani and Darling, has now bagged an important role in Vijay 59 (tentatively titled) directed by Atlee. Rumours are rife that Atlee had approached Vadivelu and Sathyan for the role, but apparently both of them turned down the offer and this was how Rajendran ended up being roped in the film. Sources say that Rajendran plays a cab driver in it and will be seen in a full-fledged role, contrary to a report published that he’s playing a cameo.
The film which has Samantha and Amy Jackson playing the female leads, Vijay 59 also marks veteran director J Mahendran’s debut in acting, as the antagonist. The film which went on floors at Mahabalipuram some time ago has music by GV Prakash and is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
