Niharika, first woman from the Chiranjeevi family, makes her Tollywood entry
There’s a running joke in Tollywood that given the number of people who enter the industry from the Mega family, they can easily start a cricket team. But now, as a refreshing change, a girl from the family is making her debut in films.
We are talking about Niharika Konidela — daughter of Nagababu, Chiranjeevi’s brother. She will be debuting opposite actor Naga Shourya in a film that will be produced by Madhura Sridhar. “Yes, Niharika is playing the female lead,” Sridhar confirmed.
The film is titled, Oka Manasu, and is being directed by Ramaraju. Niharika has earlier appeared on a few regional television shows but it has been claimed that Nagababu, had been waiting for a good script to launch his daughter.
It will be interesting to see how Niharika’s career pans out especially when you consider that fans have earlier revolted against film families launching their daughters. So far, only Lakshmi Manchu — Mohan Babu’s daughter — has managed to make it to the big league.
