Salman Khan's 'Sultan' loses out on Ludhiana shooting location to Aamir Khan's 'Dangal'
Both stars were keen to shoot their wrestling themed films in Gujjarwal village
Mumbai: Let the games begin! Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan will both be stepping into the dirt ring for their upcoming films ‘Sultan’ and ‘Dangal’. Both Khans are gearing up to play Indian wrestlers in their film that are set to hit theatre screens in 2016.
Reports on Thursday, state that the fight could just be getting ‘dirty’ now that one star has gained the upper hand over a shooting location. According to the report, both stars were keen to shoot their wrestling themed films in Gujjarwal village near Ludhiana. However, Aamir and his director Nitesh Tiwari have marked their territory and booked the entire village along with its neighbouring locations to shoot their film, that is expected to go on till June next year.
While Aamir and team ‘Dangal’ take their time to shoot the bipoic (that will see the star sport two different looks), Salman on the other hand is on a race against time. Director Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Sulatan’ was in the news lately when it was announced that the film will release on the same day as Shah Rukh Khan’s political drama ‘Raees’. Both SRK and Salman will battle it out for supremacy at the box office on Eid 2016. But it looks like the release date won’t matter if the actor can’t begin shooting his film.
Salman is dedicating 4-hours each day to get into his wrestler form and also learn a few tricks of the trade. The makers of the film have also called on Hollywood stunt coordinator Larnell Stovall to train the actor for two months before they begin work on the film.
