Hyderabad: The N. Chandrababu Naidu government is exploring the possibility of including a unique “crowdfunding” initiative which might be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the foundation-laying ceremony of Amaravati.
During a brainstorming session on Wednesday in the Chief Minister's camp office in Vijayawada on preparations for the foundation-laying ceremony scheduled for October 22, Mr Naidu informed that the crowdfunding initiative would have a “digital brick” on which people could have their names engraved and make a contribution to the new capital from any place in the world.
“This will bring a sense of ownership of the capital among those participating and contributing for construction of Amaravati,” Mr Naidu said. The CM also asked officials to expand the capacity of the event to over one lakh people.
