Aamir Khan and Rohit Shetty come forward to help ailing Kalpana Lajmi

Mumbai: Filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi, who gave us films like ‘Rudaali’, ‘Daman’ and many more, is fighting a battle against a malignant tumour on her kidney. Till the last day of her life, Kalpana, 61, will have to undergo dialysis three times a week, which does not go easy on the pockets. But thanks to the support that she is receiving from the film industry, Kalpana can receive the much needed medical attention.

As soon as Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao learnt about Kalpana’s medical condition, they instantly reached out to help her. The generous couple have covered Kalpana’s six months’ dialysis bills.

Apart from Aamir, another person from the industry who reached out to help Kalpana was filmmaker Rohit Shetty. The director, who is currently shooting for his next film ‘Dilwale’ in Hyderabad, helped Kalpana with her other expenses by contributing Rs. 2 lakh.

Film fertility continues to offer Kalpana with all the needed heart-warming moral and financial support.
