Watch: Dhoni, Kohli, Ravi Shastri cheer for South Africa

They were all pumped up to show their support for African country’s rugby team

Mumbai: A day after the Indian cricket team suffered their first loss against the visiting South African team in Dharamsala, Team India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Team Director were seen cheering for their opponents, but hold your horses, it’s not the Proteas’ cricket team we’re talking about but the South African rugby team.

In a video posted by South Africa’s ODI skipper AB de Villiers, the trio were all pumped up along with the Proteas to show their support for the African country’s rugby team — Springbooks.

The South African team is currently participating in the Rugby World Cup in England and de Villiers was managed to convince his Indian counterpart to say “Bokke” —the nickname of the South African rugby team.

The Proteas took an assailable lead thus clinching the three match T20 series 2-0 after defeating a lacklustre India by six wickets in a match that was marred by shameful and unruly crowd behaviour on Monday at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack in the 2nd T20I.

South Africa are in India for a 72-day long tour that features three T20Is, five ODIs and four Test matches. The third T20I is scheduled at Eden Garden in Kolkata on October 8. The five-match ODI series starts from October 11 at Kanpur. After the ODI series, the first of the four-match Test series starts from November 5.
