Sky lanterns to be part of D-Day
Vijayawada: In bid to take the biggest event, Amaravati day, to all the sections of people, district officials, along with the TD leaders, have planned to launch sky lanterns to promote and to create awareness among the residents on a day before the stone-laying ceremony on October 22. The sky lanterns will be launched from 15 places in the city, according to TD leaders.
On the sky lanterns, officials have printed the images of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an overview of the capital.
According to the TD leaders, it is believed that more than 1,000 sky lanterns from various places will fly at once on October 21.
“To mark Amaravati day on October 22, TD leaders plan to launch sky lanterns a day before the biggest event. On October 21 night, sky lanterns with the images of the CM, capital Amaravati overview and PM Narendra Modi in various places in the city,” claims the source.
All it seems the Telugu Desam leaders are leaving no stone unturned to make the ceremony a big hit among all sections. In addition to that, district officials also made elaborate arrangements to promote the ceremony thro-ugh various inventive programmes.
Along with the city, sky lanterns will be released at various parts of Guntur and in some villages that come under the capital region.
“We always wanted to make the ceremony a big hit among all sections and to say that our efforts to construct the capital were true in reality. Our CM is doing is best to construct a world-class capital,” said MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao when contacted on phone.
The CM, who has ordered earlier to bring soil and water from various parts of the city, state and country to make all people participate in the ceremony, is said to be the reason behind the lanterns idea.
