Bengaluru: On being denied biryani at an eatery in Andhrahalli, an inebriated customer grew violent and stabbed the owner in Rajagopal Nagar police station limits on Wednesday night.
The condition of the victim, identified as Soundhar, 30, is critical and is undergoing treatment at the ICU of M.S. Ramaiah Hospital. The accused, Sultan Pasha, 28, a butcher at a chicken stall, was immediately arrested and booked for attempt to murder.
The police said the incident happened between 9:30 pm and 10 pm at the A1 Ambur Biryani in Hegganahalli cross. Sultan, a regular customer, ordered for chicken biryani. Soundhar told him that it was closing hours and all the dishes were over at the eatery.
Sultan picked up a quarrel and started pulling down the pan used to fry kababs. Some other customers tried to pacify Sultan, but he reached for a knife in the eatery and stabbed Soundhar on his back. The police was informed and they rushed to the spot and arrested Sultan, while Soundhar was shifted to a nearby hospital.
