Rumours are abuzz that director Vignesh Shivan, who’s basking in the success of the Nayanthara-Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Naanum Rowdy Dhan (NRD), will be directing Siva Karthikeyan in his next.
Vignesh Shivan says, “I neither wrote any script or discussed it with Sivakarthikeyan. But I have penned lyrics for a song in his biggie, directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan, funded by 24AM Studios. Maybe, that would have made people think that I am teaming up with him.”
Does it mean that the reports were untrue? Shivan smiles, “See, it hasn’t even been a month since NRD got released. I am quite happy that the film is a hit and as of now, I am relaxing. But I would love to do a film with Sivakarthikeyan in the future.”
Otherwise, what is he up to? “It will take some time for my next project to materialise. I’ll make an official announcement when I start my next. As far as the song that I penned in Anirudh’s music for Siva goes, it retains the postitivity and energy that Siva always has,” he says.
Meanwhile, a little birdie tells us that producer AM Rathnam is in talks with Vignesh Shivan for a film but the official paperwork is yet to take place. However, official confirmation is awaited on the same.
Sources add that Sivakarthikeyan, who’s busy with projects this year, won’t be able to accept anything else that comes his way. Future offers would be considered only when he completes his existing films.
