Two students of joint Ph.D programme conferred degrees
Three more IIT-M students have enrolled in the joint doctorate program
Chennai: S. Radhu and G. Sridhar are the first doctorates from a joint Ph.D programme between National University of Singapore (NUS) and IIT-M. The degrees were conferred jointly by the director of IIT-M Bhaskar Ramamurthi and Professor Teng Joon Lim, vice dean of graduate studies at NUS.
The two students were supervised by professor C. Vijayan, professor G. Robinson and K.Rajagopal from IIT-M and their co-supervisors from NUS were Professor Ji Wei,M.P Srinivasan and Professor Lee Fook Hou.
Three more IIT-M students have enrolled in the joint doctorate program. Professor Lim said there will be more participation from NUS students. The joint doctorate programme was signed with NUS first in 2006.
Professor Nagarajan, dean of International and Alumni Relations, said that IIT-M also offers joint doctorates with 11 of the best universities around the world including university of Melbourne, Australia and University of Aachen in Germany.
