K’town stars such as Rajinikanth, Hansika, Suriya, Karthi, Kajal Aggarwal and many generously donated money, clothes, food and blankets when Andhra Pradesh was hit by HudHud cyclone last year around the same time. But everyone has been surprised now with the stoic silence of celebrities when our own Tamil Nadu was hit badly in the recent rains!
Finally, we hear that actors have come forward to donate money through the Nadigar Sangam to the Chief Minister Relief Fund. It was Suriya and Karthi from actor Sivakumar’s family who initiated this, when they handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to Nadigar Sangam towards CM Relief Fund on Saturday followed by Vishal who donated Rs 10 lakh, while Dhanush gave Rs 5 lakh. SIAA hopes to collect more in the coming days.
