Aida Aura arrives in Mangaluru
The vessel had 1145 passengers and 411 crew on board.
Mangaluru: The MV Aida Aura, a luxury vessel of Aida Cruises, arrived at New Mangalore Port on Wednesday. The vessel had 1145 cruise passengers and 411 crew on board. This is the 10th visit of the vessel to New Mangalore Port. Among the passengers, 749 opted for a local tour and visited places in and around Mangaluru like the thousand pillar Basadi at Moodbidri, Soans farm, cashew factories, St Aloysius chapel, Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple and Kadri Manjunatha temple. The ship later sailed off to Goa.
The route the vessel is taking is Dubai-Mumbai-Mangaluru-Goa-Muscat. Majority of the passengers are from Germany .This is the 11th cruise vessel calling at New Mangalore Port during the current financial year. Traffic Manager Y.R. Belagal in a press statement said that the port was witnessing arrival of more cruise vessels due to the availability of infrastructure like state of the art cruise lounge and immigration counter, foreign exchange facility, duty free shops and a handicraft boutique.
