New movie adapts Kamal Haasan's 'Pushpaka Vimana' title
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s classic Pushpaka Vimana starring the multifaceted actor Kamal Haasan and Amala in the lead which “silently” created records after it released in the late 80s was undoubtedly Kamal Haasan best performance. The movie garnered great appreciation for its creativity, making and for the overall acting. However, the silent dark comedy is making a huge noise in Sandalwood after a new project was announced by the same name, Pushpaka Vimana starring actor Ramesh Aravind in the lead, who is apparently a close friend of Kamal Haasan, who even directed him in Uttama Villain.
With several claims to the title of the movie, there are even talks about director Pawan Wadeyar financially backing the project. However, the director has denied producing the movie and also makes it clear that his close friends from the film industry are producing while he is just supporting a good cause. There are reports that the protagonist in the movie is crazy about aeroplanes and hence they decided to use the title Pushpaka Vimana. The title inspired by the mythological flying chariot mentioned in Ramayana seems to be making more noise after two-and-a-half decades of being silent!
