Anti-nationals helping Pakistan: Nitin Gadkari
He warned it would hit back hard if the hostile neighbour doesn’t stop proxy war.
Hyderabad: Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday lashed out at Pakistan for meddling in India and warned it would hit back hard if the hostile neighbour doesn’t stop proxy war. He also alleged some anti-nationals were living in Hyderabad and other parts of the country helping Pakistan agents and trying in vain to break the country.
“We want friendship with our neighbours. Pakistan lost three wars with India. Unable to defeat India in a direct war, it is now indulging in a proxy war. They are sending terrorists who are killing innocent people and creating a wedge between Hindus and Muslims to destabilise the country. We will not tolerate it anymore. Eent ka jawab pattar se dethe (If you throw bricks at us we will reply with stone),” he said in a stern warning. Addressing an election rally at Anandbagh in Malkagiri here, he said referring to Pakistan-based terrorists attack on IAF station at Pathankot and at other places in country.
The terrorists are trying to create a wedge between Hindus and Muslims, killing innocent people, he added. “We want to extend a hand of friendship to our neighbours. But this should not be construed as a weakness. It’s unfortunate some agents of Pakistan living in India are helping these terrorists,” he alleged. Mr Gadkari also took a dig at Congress saying the party which failed to remove poverty for 60 years was trying to divide the society and scare Muslims.
“Congress is trying to divide society in the name of religion, confusing people, scaring Muslims that PM and BJP would cut them into pieces and send them to Pakistan. It is using religion for votebank politics,” he alleged. Demanding that there should be debate in the country on these issues, he said Congress party was also obstructing parliament and stalling bills that would check road accidents, bogus driving licences, check corruption and other welfare of people. 5 lakh accidents take place in the country annually in which about 3 lakh people are maimed. 1.5 lakh people die annually. Modi Government wants to streamline Motor vehicle act, but Congress is stalling parliament. We stand for saab ka satha, sab ka vikas, he added. Promising to treat all states equally in the allotment of funds and developmental schemes, the Union Minister said Centre gave Rs 43,000 crore worth road projects to Telangana and Rs 65,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh. $e2?oBoth the States got nearly one lakh crore aid, he said.
Asserting that BJP led NDA would not indulge in dirty tricks and policies with Telangana or other non BJP ruled States, he reiterated that the Centre would stand by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He narrated how scam tainted Congress led by Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi$e2?Ts socialist economic policies failed.
