As many as 37 returns a year have been incorporated under GST regime.
As confusions still loom large, wholesalers and retailers are not willing to take any chance. They have put all their fresh stocks on hold and are aiming to clear old ones, some with new GST and some with invoice dated June 30 or even before.
Mumbai: On Monday, Surat police lathicharged textile traders who had taken out a morcha to protest against 'complicated' GST. They were shouting slogans 'GST hatao, saral tax lao' or remove GST and bring simple tax.

Traders are supposed to file 37 returns in a year of which three returns will be filed every month and one final annual return under GST regime that will be filed at the end of tax year.
