You can write recipient's Aadhaar number on cheques
Currently, Aadhaar-linked UPI allows people to transfer to each other through IMPS protocol.
It appears very soon mentioning of your Aadhaar number on cheques would become mandatory. Some banks, including Bank of India, have introduced the provision to write the Aadhaar number of recipient on cheque. Currently, however, it is just optional.
This is in tune with the government’s plans to bring all transactions — monetary or otherwise — linked to Aadhaar number as it will enable officials to know about a person at the click of mouse.
Currently, Aadhaar-linked UPI allows people to transfer to each other through IMPS protocol without typing out their bank details such as IFSC Code, etc.
