Here's how you can carry your Aadhaar everywhere without losing it
Mumbai: From reservation of railway tickets to filing income tax returns, we have to constantly reach for our Aadhaar cards in our purses to establish our identity.
Aadhaar was initiated under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology with the aim of having a single, unique identification document or number that would aggregate all details, including demographic and biometric information, of every Indian in one database. It is now backed by the Aadhaar Act, 2016 and the information collected is handled by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Therefore, we need to have multiple copies of our Aadhaar card all the time for various purposes. However, this is cumbersome and quite risky as one may easily misplace their card, thus putting their personal information out in the world. For this reason, the UIDAI came out with a way to provide all Aadhaar holders with a soft copy of the same.
