20th over, Australia 157/8 (Wade 16)
Australia choke to defeat! Jasprit Bumrah disturbed the timber twice in the final over to seal India's series win.
19th over, Australia 151/6 (Wade 15, Hastings 4)
India move closer to series win.
18th over, Australia 145/6 (Wade 12, Hastings 1)
Too little too late! Wade hits one out of the park but the match is all but over for Australia.
17th over, Australia 137/6 (Wade 5, Hastings 0)
Dhoni is making it up! Dhoni missed one stumping but it seems he is making it up for that missed chance and how. Faulkner inside edges one, ball hits Dhoni's pads and hits the stumps. Faulkner is out of his crease and Australia are out of this match.
16th over, Australia 126/5 (Wade 3, Faulkner 1)
J-A-D-E-J-A! Finch has injured his hamstring as he limps off the field after Jadeja's bullet towards Dhoni ended his brilliant innings. Jadeja was quick to approach the ball and quicker to throw it towards Dhoni. Australia down and out. Almost.
15th over, Australia 124/4 (Finch 74, Wade 2)
Jadeja holds onto a bullet! Shane Watson can't blame himself for this one. He smashed one straight but Jadeja holds onto a screamer. Australia is a royal mess at MCG.
14th over, Australia 119/3 (Finch 73, Watson 13)
Top stuff Yuvi Paa! Yuvraj Singh is doing it for India, Another brilliant over.
13th over, Australia 115/3 (Finch 70, Watson 12)
Watto magic is on! He is dropped from Australia's ODI side but Shane Watson is playing it well for Australia.
12th over, Australia 102/3 (Finch 69, Watson 1)
MCG erupts! It's that man Yuvraj Singh. 'Big Show' Glenn Maxwell leaves his crease to have a go at Yuvraj, the balls misses his bat. And MS Dhoni is a mad freak when it comes to knocking down those bails. Alright he missed it earlier, he is not going to repeat it.
11th over, Australia 99/2 (Finch 68, Maxwell 0)
Pandya's the man for India! Hardik Pandya is making merry at MCG. First a catch to give India their first breakthrough and now Chris Lynn's wicket.
10th over, Australia 95/1 (Finch 65, Lynn 1)
Catching practice in the middle! Dhawans are having a terrible day in the field as Finch is making merry. First Rishi Dhawan spilled one and then Shikhar dropped a dolly. Thankfully for India, Ashwin managed to get a wicket in the over after Pandya held onto one.
9th over, Australia 89/0 (Finch 62, Marsh 22)
India's almost moment! Umesh Yadav had nearly pulled off an absolute stunner in the deep.He flew for that one but could not hold onto a very difficult catch.
8th over, Australia 78/0 (Finch 54, Marsh 19)
Finch's fifty! He has taken on Ashwin straightway. A big six through the leg-side. Australia are cruising here.
7th over, Australia 67/0 (Finch 47, Marsh 17)
Bowling change! Ravindra Jadeja bowls a tight first over. How India needed that!
6th over, Australia 62/0 (A Finch 43, Marsh 16)
No bowling change? Dhoni is still sticking to his regular bowlers, Finch is off to a flying start (42 off 21). The youngster is under pressure with Australia maintaining the 10 per over rate.
5th over, Australia 48/0 (Finch 34, Marsh 11)
Clinch Finch! That should be India’s target at present, the Australian skipper is going great guns, hitting all around the park. Nehra concedes 10 off his third over.
4th over, Australia 38/0 (Finch 26, Marsh 10)
Good comeback! Bumrah keeps the pair quiet, eight runs off the over. Dhoni is likely to make a change after Nehra’s expensive second over. But no, the man is warming up for his third over now. The captain really trusts his experienced customer.
3rd over, Australia 30/0 (Aaron Finch 20, Shaun Marsh 9)
Whacking it! Finch finds his mojo, steals boundaries off Nehra. Australia scoring at 10 an over. Sixteen runs off the over, India under pressure.
2nd over, Australia 14/0 (Aaron Finch 7, Shaun Marsh 6)
Expensive Bumrah! The rookie pacer leaks runs (two boundaries) in his first over. Finch and Marsh looking to accelerate.
1st over, Australia 4/0 (Aaron Finch 2, Shaun Marsh 1)
Ashish Nehra keeps it tight! Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh are looking to rotate the strike. Nehra, the experienced customer, is sticking to his length. Good start by India.
Melbourne: Put in to bat, Rohit Sharma’s 60, Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 59 and Shikhar Dhawan’s 42 powered India to 184 runs in the second T20 against Australia in Melbourne on Friday.
India: 184/3 (Rohit Sharma 60, Virat Kohli 59*, Shikhar Dhawan 42)
India innings:
20th over, India 184/3 (Virat 59, Raina 0)
A few runs short? India have scored more than average score (165) at MCG in T20s. But have they score enough?
19th over, India 174/2 (Virat 49, Dhoni 14)
Excellent over! Faulkner gave away a boundary but made it up by conceding just fours runs in addition to that. Eight runs in the 19th over of a T20 game is outstanding to say the least.
18th over, India 166/2 (Virat 47, Dhoni 8)
Dhoni gets going! You just can't bowl such lollies to MS Dhoni. Immaterial how old he is or form he is in, he will smash it with disdain
17th over, India 152/2 (Virat 38, Dhoni 3)
No Yuvraj yet! Dhoni comes out to join Virat in the middle and they are running hard between the wickets. Virat, meanwhile, is carving out some fours.
16th over, India 143/2 (Kohli 32, Dhoni 0)
They have done it again! Rohit Sharma gets run out after another mix-up batting alongside Virat Kohli. Historically that has worked in India's favour though.
15th over, India 134/1 (Rohit 58, Virat 25)
This is superb! Virat Kohli is making sure that he lives upto Dhoni's belief to have many stands named after him in Australia. Straight six and all that.
14th over, India 122/1 (Rohit 55, Kohli 16)
Hastings has given it away. Virat Kohli has slammed three fours in that over as India move past 120-run mark. Danger ahead of Australia.
13th over, India 109/1 (Rohit 54, Kohli 4)
India slow down! Tye is trying to maintain some pressure on the Indian batsman and for his and Australia's liking, the right-arm pacer is succeeding.
12th over, India 104/1 (Rohit 53, Kohli 1)
Fifty for Hitman! Rohit Sharma can do no wrong on this Australia tour. Another fifty for the Mumbaikar.
11th over, India 97/1 (Rohit 47, Kohli 0)
Maxi strikes! Glenn Maxwell struck to dismiss Shikhar Dhawan after the left-hander slammed 42 runs off 32 balls. How Australia needed that breakthrough!
10th over, India 86/0 (Rohit 37, Dhawan 41)
Boland stops the run flow! Scot Boland has bowled a three-run over to stop the run flow.
9th over, India 83/0 (Rohit 35, Dhawan 40 )
Glenn Maxwell bowls a tight first over as he concedes just six runs.
8th over, India 77/0 (Rohit 32, Dhawan 37)
Lyon tamed! Nathan Lyon, who made his T20I debut today, bowled a terrible first over and Indian openers made sure to cash in.
7th over, India 62/0 (Rohit 24, Dhawan 31)
There’s no stopping Dhawan! The Indian left-hander is in some mood in Melbourne, his adopted home ground. He just bows and then hits that upper cut for six. 12 runs off that Faulkner over.
6th over, India 50/0 (Rohit 20 , Dhawan 23)
Some calm! India scored just six runs in that over to bring up their fifty.
5th over, India 44/0 (Rohit 20, Dhawan 18)
Faulkner smashed! The Indian openers are in no mood to show any mercy as they score 15 runs from James Faulkner’s first over.
4th over, India 29/0 (Rohit 6, Dhawan 17)
India up the ante! Rohit and Dhawan have seen it enough and they have taken Hastings for cleaners. The duo slammed 17 runs off that over.
3rd over, India 12/0 (Rohit 1 , Dhawan 5)
Rohit struggles! Scot Boland, on debut, has troubled Rohit oUTSIDE the off-side.
2nd over, India 10/0 (Rohit 0 , Dhawan 5 )
John Hastings, who returned to the Australian side for this game, started with a hit-me ball to Shikhar Dhawan.
First over, India 5/0 (Rohit 0, Dhawan 0)
Nervous start! Shane Watson, who opened the bowling for Australia, troubled Rohit Sharma on the off-side.
