National award is dear to me, but award shows have lost their charm: Arjun Rampal
Mumbai: ‘Rock On!! 2’ is all set to release on ‘November 11,’and Arjun Rampal is an excited man. The 2008 cult prequel had given him his maiden National award and the 43-year-old actor holds it in high regard. However, his opinion on award shows in general isn’t as generous.
"It (national award) is very dear to me. There are so many award shows happening these days that they (award shows) have lost charm. I know there will be expectation (about winning national award this time) but I am not under pressure (to win the award)," Arjun told PTI.
‘Rock On!! 2,’ helmed by Shujaat Saudagar, has Farhan Akhtar and Purab Kohli returning with Arjun, along with new entrants Shraddha Sharma and Shashank Arora.
Post the award, Arjun had numerous offers to play a musician, but rejected all of them.
"There were offers to play the role of a musician but I did not want to do it. I did not want to do it (musician role) because I had done it (with 'Rock On') beyond my expectations. I had surpassed the expectations. There was always talk about 'Rock On 2', so I wanted to preserve it,” he concluded.
