Rakhi Sawant urges Modi to banish ceiling fans after Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide
Mumbai: It seems nonsensical statements and Rakhi Sawant go hand in hand. While many expressed their shock and grief over the death of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, Rakhi had something entirely different to say.
At a press conference organised by Rakhi, she urged India’s PM Narendra Modi to ban ceiling fans. “Daughters, sisters, daughter-in-laws commit suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan. I want ceiling fans to go away. I request PM Modi to ban ceiling fans from everyone’s house. If you love your daughter or sister, then banish the ceiling fan. Remove it from your house and use a table fan or AC,” said Rakhi Sawant.
Pratyusha Banerjee, better known as Anandi for her role in popular TV serial Balika Vadhu, was found dead in her suburban home on Friday at around 5 pm. Pratyusha took her life by hanging herself with a dupatta and was later found by her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh and their cook.
