Malaika and Arbaaz Khan set the record straight about their impending divorce

Mumbai: Rumours about Malaika and Arbaaz Khan’s impending divorce have been doing rounds for some time now. Now, the two have come forward to set the record straight.

According to a report in DNA, Arbaaz and Malaika have issued a statement which reads, “We have maintained a dignified silence till now but it is causing us too much confusion and is disturbing for our families. To put all of the speculation to rest, we are giving out this statement. People claiming to be our friends and sources have been speaking on our behalf giving out wrong, malicious information. They have maligned us for long and we have kept quiet and not said a word as it’s a personal matter between us. We have got a child and our families are involved, but just because we have not said anything till now, it doesn’t give anybody the license to speculate on any rubbish about us.”

The report further states that the two have taken a break 'to figure out their lives'. Few months back, there were stories about Malaika dating a businessman and Arbaaz’s family disapproving of her lifestyle. Recently, there were also reports stating that Malaika has approached a divorce lawyer and has demanded their child’s custody. However, the couple has stated that they have ‘not separated because of a third random person’. They have went on to add that they deeply respect each other's families.

The couple has immense respect for each other and holds the other in the highest regard. Malaika and Arbaaz have asked their space and will talk about it when the time is right.
