I'm getting death threats: Pratyusha's last message to Rahul Raj Singh

A clip played out for Justice Mridula Bhatkar reveals that Pratyusha and her parents were receiving death threats.

The latest development on the Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case, states that the actress might have been getting ‘death threats’ which may have lead to her suicide. A telephonic recording believed to be Pratyusha’s last call to boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, an hour before her death, was recently heard by Justice Mridula Bhatkar.

According to reports, the recording played out as follows:

Pratyusha Banerjee: Mujhe characterless kaha jaa raha hai. Mujhe marne ki dhamki di jaa rahi hai. Mere maa baap ko marne ki dhamki di jaa rahi hai. Bacha kya hai meri zindagi mein. (I have been called characterless. I'm getting death threats. My parents are getting death threats. What's left in my life now?)

Rahul Raj Singh: Yeh sab choti baatein hain. (All these are not a big deal)

Pratyusha Banerjee: Aap isko choti si baat kaise bol sakte ho. Mr. Rahul please keep your ego aside. (How can you say it's no big deal? Mr. Rahul, please keep your ego aside.)

The call came to an abrupt end with Rahul hanging up while Pratyusha was still talking to him.

Justice Bhatkar was hearing an application filed by Rahul seeking pre-arrest bail after the sessions court rejected his plea. He observed that from witness statements, it was clear that harassment and disputes existed between Rahul and Pratyusha, but there was nothing prima facie on record to show abetment.

The court ruled that after perusing all the facts in the case, the police could investigate it without any custodial interrogation of the accused. The Bombay High Court on Monday thereafter granted Rahul anticipatory bail.
